Resetting a dishwasher is usually pretty simple, but the exact button can vary by model.
On many modern dishwashers, the reset function is built into the Start or Cancel button. Look for a label such as “Reset 3 SEC” near the button. Press and hold it for about three seconds. The dishwasher should cancel the current settings and reset.
If a wash cycle is already running, resetting it can also cancel the cycle and start draining any water left inside. Once it’s finished draining, you can select a new cycle and start the dishwasher again.
If your dishwasher doesn’t have a reset button or the three-second reset doesn’t work, check the owner’s manual for the correct reset procedure for your model.
